Welcome

To our family blog! We love having a spot to record the Grand and not so Grand events in our lives! Thanks for keeping track of us and for tagging along! And don't forget to check out my photography blog!

MEXICO- Week One

As soon as we got to my sister's house we were all happy and tired. Emma saw her primas and was so excited! The boys were curious about the new and not so new faces. We figured out were we would sleep and soon hit the hay.
Six a.m. (nine a.m. for us) came way too early. Emma and I slept in my nieces' bed and we had one pack 'n play at our feet and another one on the side. I was too tired to get up in the  morning. My nieces didn't have school so they took them and played with them.

That afternoon we left my sister's home and drove to Ciudad Obregon. It was a strange feeling to be back "home" and see all these places and faces. It was nice. It was different. People can't believe I have three kids. Every body is in love with them.

The kids soon found toys and things to play with. Ben loved playing with this glass. We had to put traps at the top and bottom of the stairs and kind of child proofed the whole house. Alex still manages to get bruises though.

Emma had been so tired, she must have napped every afternoon the first week.

By Thursday everybody was sick. The kids sounded terrible. They had all kinds of boogies and fussiness. We took them to the poor people's doctor. We paid thirty pesos and got a prescription. They are doing so much better now, except for Emma, she won't take the medicines, she keeps saying "no me gusta" and spits it out. I have not succeeded at forcing it down her throat. I spanked her. I bribed her. Nothing works.

So, while we're waiting our turn at the doctor's office, I was talking to a lady and she was saying something when this woman came and grabbed alex from my arms and started walking away. I got up immediately and followed her. {Who does that!?} I was seriously freaking out! I have been freaking out since they told me about how rough the city has gotten and all the crime and sweet news like that. It terrifies me to think that somebody could just run away with my kids!
Well, she was a nice lady and wanted to show her daughter how cute and chubby Alex was and my mom says that she did ask to hold him but since I was conversing with the other woman I didn't hear her. Needless to say, I now hold my kids super tight and keep an eye on them at ALL times!

We spent the rest of the week sick. We left for Guaymas Friday morning without the birthday cake I was supossed to make for my nieces' birthday party. Instead, we hurried and bought one. It was pretty yummy I must say.

Party pictures coming up!

My nieces turned nine and my sister had a little party for them and some of her friends from school.

When we got there, all the kids wanted to see my three children, especially Emma. She felt a little crowded and didn't act very social the rest of the day.

Ramiro and Lehi kept the boys entertained, until Alex saw mom behind the camera.

What's a little boy doing in a girls' party? Well, I think she likes him.

How long has it been since you've been home to Mexico?

I would be terrified if someone walked off with one of my babies.

Looks like it was a great party.

I would have been just as terrified if someone had walked off with one of my babies. I definitely don't think that you being in a conversation and not hearing her ask is a good enough reason to take your baby. But I am really glad that it turned out okay.

I hope Emma feels better soon! What a stubborn girl. :)

I'm glad that you are able to have this trip! Time flies by so quickly.
