Welcome

To our family blog! We love having a spot to record the Grand and not so Grand events in our lives! Thanks for keeping track of us and for tagging along! And don't forget to check out my photography blog!

December 13

So, Emma loves taking stuff out of baskets! Especially freshly folded clothes! It was getting late and she was rubbing her eyes but she could not stop doing her favorite thing!

December 12

Emma was super tired!!! We had to go to the office to do some work for Ryan and we spent several hours there. When we finished it was almost 2 pm and we hadn't had anything to eat, so we went to Chilis with everybody and we finally got home at around 5pm and of course she was tired but unwilling to nap. She played and daddy watched her while my mom and I went to hobby lobby and to get a movie and some ice cream (who would have thought my mom would eat ice cream in the winter! Not very Mexican at all!) and by the time we got home, Emma was super tired and ready to eat and sleep. And so she did.

December 11

We acquired Betty last year when Emma wasn't even born yet, I was pregnant though and I knew it was a girl. When I saw Betty I just knew Emma would love her! Today we finally got Betty out of the box and this was Emma's reaction. She loved it, can you tell?

Later we had a relief society activity, a cookie swap, we had a good turn out and everybody got to take home some delicious cookies!

December 10

Emma's top teeth are out! or in? Anyway, they're here!! She had a rough week though, we all did, but we are so happy she's eating and sleeping better now. She looks so cute with new teeth. It's funny how genes work. She has my teeth. How do I know that? well, her teeth are kind of serrated, just like mine! :) It's fun to feel the little spikes, it feels like a knife.
Today we had to prepare for the cookie exchange, we did some cleaning and raking. Oh my, did I rake leaves? I hurt all night, I had a fever and I'm so sore still, can you tell I'm way out of shape?! All in all, a good day. We are able to really park both cars in the garage, and actually open the doors. Also, our yard looks very nice!

December 9

For the love of Fabric!! Don't you just adore these fabrics?! We went on a little fabric shopping trip a few weeks ago with Gillian and Mandy. I had been wanting to make a reds, whites and maybe some pinks quilt for quite a while now but I hadn't found the fabric, until that day. I think these are soo cute!! I don't know if I will have the courage to cut the fabric... So, that's why I decided to take pictures of all of them and maybe then I would make myself cut them... In the meantime I did start another quilt that's a Christmas gift for one of my lovely nieces.

December 8

Emma is such a happy little girl. I just love her many smiles. These pictures were taken Monday morning right after breakfast and right after pooping, of course she was happy!! She was so stinkin' happy!! Every morning she sits in her walker and follows my mom and I around opening the kitchen drawers and pulling out the dish towels and making all kinds of messes. She's an explorer!

This is how we spent the rest of the day, reading Twilight (Ryan hasn't been able to put those books down, he's almost done with book 3, and has already read the online version of Twilight through the eyes of Edward, and considering he started Sunday night, I would say he's addicted! Not me, I'm just in chapter 5 of the first book), finishing Emma's quilt (that we started about 3 months before she was born! I know!...) and watching Emma and Lehi play through family home evening! We had a good time listening to the Christmas Devotional for FHE, we missed it on Sunday so we decided to listen to it for fhe and I just love Elder Uchtdorf (that was the only talk we listened to, but planning on listening to the other for fhe this mont) he is such and inspiration to me, plus he has a sweet accent!

December 7

These were taken right after we got home from church. Emma looks good in black, don't you agree?

So... Matt wanted a haircut... and he got one!! It had been 3 years since he had gotten a real haircut and I got to do it! It was FUN!

December 6

We went to this BBQ place in Daleville, Bird's Smokehouse. It was pretty good, the food wasn't all we thought it would be but we had a good time.

December 5

It was a quieter day. No big plans for the day. I did go to the handmade holiday activity we had at the church and Christina and I were the only ones there. We had a good time and I learned how to use the timer in my camera! Check out our picture there in the center! ;) My mom and I cleaned the garage (okay, it was mostly my mom, but I did help) and now we're able to park both cars inside!!

December 4

Emma discovered oreo cookies! My mom was eating some cookies in the afternoon as I was getting emma ready for a bath. I sat her next to my mom on the table and as soon as she laid eyes on the oreos decided to snatch one of my mom's oreos...I let her lick it of course... and took some great shots!

December 3

So... I got a hair cut!!! It had been so long since I had cut my hair, and longer since I had cut it short! In fact, the only time I remember having short hair was when I was about ten years old and my sister and I wanted to look like some soap opera stars...(I know... funny) so, for almost 20 years I had had long hair... until yesterday. I like it. What do you think? Emma had to look at me twice before she recognized me. It was cute.

December 2

It was Dutsika's birthday and we went to Domo's. The food was wonderful and it was just really nice being together. I just love this picture of Emma and Ryan, They are a great smiley duo!

December 1

We had a great time! I'm loving taking pictures everyday. It makes me think of moments as "memorable" Everytime I take a picture, I'm looking for a story to tell, I can see myself thinking in the future, looking at my mini album, "oh, that was so much fun, good times", you know? It's fun!

Go!!

Today is the first day of my attempt to create memories and nothing I could write is more appropriate than to post the wonderful words of President Thomas S Monson:
"There is no tomorrow to Remember if we don't do something today". "Rather than dwelling on the past, we should make the most of today, of the here and now, doing all we can to provide pleasant memories for the future". That is my plan.
As I was reading his talk (the one that gave tittle to this blog) Finding Joy in the Journey, from the October 2008 General Conference, I just felt this encouraging power, I received confirmation that this was a great idea (sometimes I doubt I can have good ideas)and felt the Power of his words, because I know them to be true.
So, here we go. We are making memories, Today.
